About Rio De Janeiro
Hugged between warm blue waters and lush green mountains, Rio is the most spectacular city in all of South America. The style, rhythms and excitement of Rio De Janeiro are legendary. During the day , Sugar Loaf Mountain and the bright white beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana dominate the city; at night Rio is alive with the sonorous sounds and rhythms of sambas and bossa novas.

Today Brazil is one of the world’s major jewelry centers. Sixtyfive percent of the world’s colored gemstones are produced in Brazil, which is also one of the world’s major gold producers. Since the jewelry industry is entirely domestic from the mining of gems to cutting, designing and crafting them
prices are attractive. The sheer variety of gemstones is striking.

Bing Crosby, Carmen Miranda and Bob Hope made it famous in their “Road to Rio” movie. Later, James Bond adventured there as secret agent 007. Rio’s 6.4 million people are known as “Cariocas” who live a life of optimistic hedonism and are utterly charming.
